Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. As a key member of our kitchen management, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene are maintained. This role offers an excellent opportunity for career progression within a reputable hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in supervising daily kitchen operations and staff management
Oversee food production, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation
Manage food safety procedures in compliance with health regulations and company policies
Coordinate and supervise food preparation and cooking processes to optimise efficiency
Support team management by mentoring junior kitchen staff and fostering a positive working environment
Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained, clean, and functioning correctly
Assist with menu planning, ingredient ordering, and stock control to minimise waste
Uphold high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and safety across all kitchen areas
Contribute to maintaining excellent customer service by ensuring timely delivery of dishes during service hours

Qualifications

Proven experience in a culinary or kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership skills in a fast-paced environment
Strong knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
Excellent understanding of food safety standards and hygiene regulations
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
Team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff members
Good organisational skills with the capacity to work under pressure during busy service times
Previous experience in hospitality or serving roles is advantageous but not essential
