Full job description

Job Summary

Due to a change within the business, we’re looking for a reliable, organised and proactive business manager to support the Managing Director of A Touch of Colour Decorators Ltd.

This is an important role within a busy decorating and property services business. We need someone who can help keep both the business and its owner organised, stay on top of multiple priorities and make sure things don't get forgotten or fall through the cracks.

The role will include:

Managing emails, diary and appointments
Organising meetings, site visits and networking commitments
Following up customers, enquiries and outstanding actions
Preparing and sending quotations and invoices
General business administration and record keeping
Helping organise jobs, schedules and information for the team
Liaising with customers, contractors and suppliers
Keeping track of tasks, deadlines and outstanding paperwork
Assisting with social media and basic marketing/admin where required
Helping the Managing Director prioritise workload and stay organised
Taking ownership of tasks rather than waiting to be constantly instructed
General PA duties and ad-hoc support as required

About you

We're looking for somebody who is:

Extremely organised and dependable
Confident using email, Microsoft Office and online systems
Comfortable dealing professionally with customers, tradespeople, contractors and suppliers
Able to work independently and use their own initiative
Good at prioritising when several things need doing at once
Happy working closely with a busy business owner
Confident enough to chase, remind and keep things moving
Trustworthy and discreet
Friendly, down-to-earth and a good communicator

Previous experience working within a decorating, construction or other trade-based company would be particularly helpful, as an understanding of quotations, jobs, tradespeople, materials, contractors and the general day-to-day running of a trade business would be a real advantage.

Experience as a PA, executive assistant, office manager or business administrator would also be ideal.

Hours: 24 hours per week
Working pattern: Mon - Friday 9am - 1pm except 1 day will be 9 - 530
Location: Air conditioned office in Chessington
Pay: Dependent on experience on a self-employed basis

This isn't a role where you'll simply be given a list of admin jobs each morning. We're looking for somebody who can understand how the business operates, become a trusted right-hand person and actively help keep everything running smoothly.
