Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately dispensing medications, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting pharmacy operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with pharmacy technician experience or those interested in advancing their career within the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector. The position is paid and requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Dispense prescribed medications accurately in accordance with prescriptions and pharmacy protocols
Assist pharmacists in preparing and verifying medication orders
Provide guidance and information to patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and storage instructions
Maintain precise records of dispensed medications and patient interactions
Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reordering supplies as necessary
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling of pharmaceuticals
Assist with medication administration procedures when required, under supervision
Deliver compassionate patient care by addressing queries and offering support during pharmacy visits

Qualifications

Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar role is highly desirable
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care principles
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure dispensing accuracy
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals
Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional standards
A recognised qualification in pharmacy services or related field is preferred but not essential
