About the Role

As Deputy Nursery Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day leadership of the nursery, supporting the Nursery Manager to ensure the highest standards of care, education, safeguarding and compliance are consistently delivered.

You'll be a visible leader within the setting, supporting and developing the team while helping to create a positive, engaging and nurturing environment for children and families.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Early Years professional who is looking to progress their career within a supportive organisation that genuinely invests in its people.

Key Responsibilities

Support the day-to-day management and smooth operation of the nursery
Lead by example and model outstanding Early Years practice
Support the delivery of a high-quality, child-centred EYFS curriculum
Coach, mentor and support staff development through regular guidance and supervision
Build positive relationships with children, parents and carers
Promote a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
Conduct nursery tours and support new family enrolments
Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and Ofsted requirements
Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain high standards across the setting
Assist with occupancy growth and community engagement activities

What We're Looking ForEssential

Level 3 qualification (or above) in Early Years Education or Childcare
Previous leadership, supervisory or senior practitioner experience within a nursery setting
Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements
Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
A proactive, positive and child-centred approach
A genuine passion for delivering exceptional Early Years education and care

Desirable

Experience supporting Ofsted inspections
Experience contributing to action plans and quality improvement initiatives
Knowledge of nursery management systems and operational processes
Experience supporting staff supervision, coaching and performance development
