Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and motivated Dental Nurse, qualified or trainee to join our friendly and professional team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care while supporting the dentist during a wide range of procedures. Reception experience or knowledge is highly desirable, as the role may include occasional front-of-house duties.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about patient care, works well in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys being part of a supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring patients feel comfortable, informed, and reassured throughout their visit.
Prepare, sterilise, and maintain dental instruments and equipment in accordance with cross-infection control and health & safety regulations.
Accurately take and update patient medical histories, ensuring compliance with data protection and confidentiality standards.
Provide clear post-operative care instructions and answer patient queries regarding treatments and procedures.
Maintain stock levels of dental materials and supplies, ensuring the surgery is fully prepared for each session.
Support reception duties when required, including answering calls, booking appointments, greeting patients, and managing the patient journey.
Work collaboratively with dentists and the wider team to deliver outstanding patient care.

Skills & Experience

Patient-Focused Approach: Demonstrates empathy, professionalism, and a commitment to patient wellbeing.
Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written English skills, with the ability to explain information clearly and confidently.
Nursing Experience: Previous dental nursing experience is preferred; relevant healthcare experience will also be considered.
Reception Knowledge (Preferred): Experience with front-desk duties and appointment systems is advantageous.
IT Proficiency: Comfortable using dental software systems and general computer applications.
Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and high clinical standards.
Team Player: Positive attitude with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
