We are looking for an experienced Aluminium Window and Door Service and Installation Engineer to join our Installation Team.
Aluminium windows and doors are a key part of our business, so we are particularly interested in applicants with strong experience installing, servicing and fault finding across aluminium systems.
This is a varied, hands on role covering aluminium and uPVC window and door installation, servicing, repairs and remedial work.
Experience with conservatories, solid roofs and living spaces would also be a real advantage, particularly knowledge of Ultraframe systems and product ranges.
The Role
This is not a role where every day is the same.
You could be completing a new aluminium window or door installation, attending a customer service visit, diagnosing a fault, replacing hardware or supporting the wider fitting team on a larger project.
We are looking for someone who is practical, experienced and confident working independently.
You will also need to be comfortable working as part of the wider Installation Team when required.
You will work closely with our Installation Manager and Installation Office to make sure jobs are prepared properly, completed to a high standard and customers are looked after throughout the process.
Aluminium Experience
Aluminium is an important part of the Eden Windows product range.
We are therefore particularly interested in applicants who have experience with:
- Aluminium windows.
- Aluminium entrance doors.
- Aluminium French doors.
- Aluminium sliding doors.
- Aluminium bifold doors.
- Correct alignment and adjustment.
- Locks, handles, hinges and hardware.
- Diagnosing operational problems.
- Sealing, finishing and making good.
- Servicing and remedial work on existing aluminium installations.
You should understand that aluminium installations require care, accuracy and attention to detail to achieve the right finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Install aluminium windows and doors to a high standard.
- Install uPVC windows and doors where required.
- Carry out window and door servicing.
- Attend scheduled remedial appointments.
- Diagnose faults and identify the correct solution.
- Complete adjustments and repairs.
- Replace glazing where required.
- Replace handles, hinges, locks, seals and associated hardware.
- Correct alignment and operational issues.
- Identify installation or product faults.
- Complete new window and door installations.
- Remove existing products and install replacements professionally.
- Check products and materials before starting work.
- Keep customers informed about the work being completed.
- Treat customers' homes with care and respect.
- Keep work areas clean, tidy and safe.
- Accurately report any additional parts or work required.
- Keep the Installation Office updated following each job.
- Support other fitting teams when required.
- Take ownership of completing work properly and reducing unnecessary repeat visits.
Conservatory and Ultraframe Experience
Experience with conservatories and living spaces is not essential, but it would be a significant advantage.
We would be particularly interested in applicants with experience in:
- Conservatory installation.
- Orangery and living space installation.
- Ultraframe conservatory systems.
- Ultraframe roofing systems.
- Solid roof installation.
- Replacement conservatory roofs.
- Conservatory roof conversions.
- Glazed roof systems.
- Structural integration of replacement roofs and extensions.
- More complex glazed home improvement projects.
If you are an experienced conservatory fitter as well as a strong window and door installer, we would be very interested in hearing from you.
About You
We are looking for someone who takes genuine pride in their workmanship.
You should have:
- Strong experience installing aluminium windows and doors.
- Experience servicing and repairing windows and doors.
- Good knowledge of aluminium and uPVC products.
- Strong fault finding and problem solving skills.
- Good glazing experience.
- High standards of finish.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A professional approach when working in customers' homes.
- Good communication skills.
- The ability to work independently.
- The ability to work as part of a team when required.
- A practical and positive attitude.
- A willingness to help the wider Installation Team when required.
- A full UK driving licence.
Customer Service
Technical ability is important, but so is the way you deal with our customers.
When attending a service appointment, you may be visiting a customer who already has a concern.
We need someone who can listen, assess the problem properly, explain what needs doing and take ownership of finding the right solution.
When carrying out a new installation, we expect the same level of professionalism.
We want our installers to leave every customer feeling confident they made the right decision choosing Eden Windows.
