Full job description

LC International is currently looking for an experienced Mobile Heavy Plant Welding Engineer to join our well-established engineering department. This is a full time, permanent opportunity.

The successful candidate must be committed to the business’ development, be confident in their abilities, work alone at times, manage their own time and have good communication skills. They must be reliable, trustworthy and dedicated to their role.

The Job

· Welding, grinding and fabricating focusing on MIG and ARC Processes

· Hard face welding to heavy plant machinery focusing on Shredders/Crushers

· Some structural welding

· Project Assistance – working within the team on larger installations, decommissions or larger projects. These may require staying away for 1-10 weeks.

· Emergency call outs

· Completing all relevant paperwork, typically using out tablet-based job sheet system

· Repairing heavy plant and associated parts via welding techniques

The role will be split between yard based welding in ME3 9ND and onsite welding across the whole of the UK.

You may be required to do other suitable tasks depending on requirements of each job and your ability. As well as the option for personal progression, all overtime is paid with no cap and 28 days holiday including bank holidays.

The Right Candidate

The right candidate will be expected to have the following credentials and personality traits;

· 5 A - C GCSEs

· Have at least 5 years’ experience welding

· Have at least 5 years’ experience with Oxy-fuel gas cutting techniques

· Have a clean and valid UK drivers’ licence

· Hold a CSCS card

· Able to use own initiative as well as being able to follow direction well

· Flexible to changing hours, workdays and work locations

· Open to working long days due to the job completion time frames

· Time conscious

· Drink and drug free due to regular onsite random drink and drug testing

· Willing to work away if required

The working schedule for this role is on rota schedule. 4 days on, 4 days off covering weekends.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £20.00 per hour
