About Us

Gower College Swansea is one of the largest colleges in Wales, with a strong reputation for high-quality teaching and learning. The College operates across six campuses in Swansea, supporting over 4,500 full-time and 10,000 part-time learners. The role:

Are you passionate about supporting students and making a difference in education? We are looking for enthusiastic Education Support Officers to fill multiple positions across various shifts, offering flexible opportunities to help learners thrive.

Term-time (36 weeks per year)
Part time (18 hours per week)
Fixed term until 31st August 2027
£13.52 per hour (£10,138 per annum)
Tycoch Campus, Swansea
Shortlisting: w/c 31st August
Interviews: 14th September
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an optional taster session/job preview on the day of their interview, providing an opportunity to gain an insight into the role and working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide educational, emotional, social and personal support to students with Additional Learning Needs
Participate in and support the provision of learning programmes as directed by the lecturers
Assist in the manual handling of students with personal care requirements in accordance with the individual care plan

About you:

GCSE passes in Maths and English (grades A-C) or equivalent are desirable
Basic IT skills i.e. operate a computer, familiar with Microsoft Word and the Internet
Knowledge and understanding of the needs of students with learning difficulties
Able to work with people with learning difficulties, including assisting with personal care.
