Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Experienced Commis Chef with at least 2-3 years experience to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is part time working 3 days a week. Immediate start if possible

In this vital role, you will assist in food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety are maintained at all times. Your culinary expertise will contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests, supporting the head chef and kitchen staff in a fast-paced environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and grow within a vibrant hospitality setting. Due to location must drive as no bus or train route

Duties

Prepare ingredients and assist in cooking a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
Support the kitchen team in meal preparation, plating, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and hygiene regulations
Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying supervisors of shortages or expired items
Follow all health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe working environment for all staff
Serve food efficiently during busy service periods, ensuring timely delivery to guests
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and uphold high standards of service

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar culinary role within a restaurant or pub environment
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards
Excellent skills in meal preparation, including chopping, seasoning, cooking, and garnishing dishes
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen setting
Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors
Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools used in professional food preparation
Enthusiastic attitude with a passion for food

A trail shift may be required due to experience

A successful candidate will undergo a three-month trial review
