Specification and Compliance Technologist

Location: Tamworth, Staffordshire

Mon-Fri 8am-4pm

Salary: £36,500 per annum

The Role

We are looking for a Specification & Compliance Technologist to join our Technical team. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring product compliance, food safety, customer requirements and technical standards are maintained across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Manage customer compliance platforms and technical documentation.
Complete and maintain product specifications, questionnaires and due diligence information.
Oversee supplier approval processes, including specifications and risk assessments.
Review and approve packaging artwork to ensure legal and customer compliance.
Maintain nutritional information and recipe data within internal systems.
Support customer, third-party and BRCGS audits.
Conduct internal audits and support GMP compliance activities.
Participate in HACCP, TACCP and VACCP activities, including vulnerability assessments.
Monitor food safety alerts, emerging legislation and industry developments.
Investigate specification, labelling and customer complaint issues.
Support technical projects, product launches and continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist with technical training and awareness activities across the business.

About You

You will have:

A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition or a related discipline.
HACCP qualification.
Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of BRCGS Food Safety Standards.
Experience using customer compliance systems such as Brandbank, Booker Compliance TQC, Erudus, QADEX, Brakes Assure, Authenticate or similar.
Strong understanding of food labelling, specifications and nutritional compliance.
Experience reviewing packaging artwork and managing supplier approvals.
Excellent attention to detail, organisational and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Salary of £36,500 per annum.
