Job Summary
We are seeking a professional, well-organised Medical Receptionist who is also able to perform phlebotomy when required to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth administrative operations within the practice. This role offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment, contributing to the efficient delivery of patient care. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with a keen eye for detail and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming environment.
Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations using the practice management system.
Answer incoming calls promptly and courteously, directing enquiries appropriately.
Maintain accurate patient records, updating personal information and medical histories as necessary.
Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and processing correspondence.
Collect and process payments or insurance information from patients efficiently.
Liaise with healthcare professionals and other staff to coordinate patient care effectively.
Ensure the reception area remains tidy, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards.

Experience

Previous office experience is essential, ideally within a healthcare setting.
Administrative experience demonstrating proficiency in managing schedules, records, and correspondence is highly desirable.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional manner.
Proficiency in using office software such as Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent programmes.
Experience working with patient management systems is advantageous but not mandatory. This role offers an engaging environment for individuals eager to contribute to healthcare services through exceptional administrative support. Candidates should be organised, personable, and committed to maintaining high standards of confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
