Salary: £33,043.73-£40,219.49 full time salary per annum. £16.90-£19.10 per hour dependent on experience and qualifications

We are growing our theatre teams! Are you an experienced and motivated Theatre Recovery Practitioner ready to take the next step in your career?

Spencer Private Hospitals are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Theatre Recovery Practitioner to provide specialist care within our busy operating theatres.

The post holder will perform and assist in all aspects of surgical post-op recovery procedures to an expert level in line with personal competencies. The post holder will work with the surgical team in delivering and maintaining a high standard of surgical care after surgery.

Spencer Private Hospitals undertake a multiplicity of surgical procedures which include but are not limited to – general surgery, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, ENT and colorectal patients.

The Theatre Recovery Practitioner is clinically responsible to the Anaesthetics Lead- working under direction and supervision as a member of the surgical team.

Full Time Hours - 37.5 hours per week. Part time hours will also be considered. Please specify your preference on the application form. Hours are worked across a 7-day working rota.

Currently most theatre work is scheduled during evening and weekends. Start times in evenings commence from 17:00 pm. Weekend work commences from 08:00 am, Flexibility is essential with finish times.

This role is offered on an annualised hours contract. This means your total contracted hours are calculated over the financial year and divided into equal monthly hours. For example, a full-time employee is expected to work an average of 163 hours per month and will receive the same monthly salary regardless of the number of hours worked in that particular month. Depending on the needs of the service, you may work more or fewer than your monthly allocated hours. Any additional hours worked or any shortfall will be carried forward and monitored throughout the financial year, with a reconciliation completed at the end of the financial year to ensure your total annual contracted hours have been met.

We offer enhancements for Saturdays and any work between 8pm and 7.30am on weekdays at time +30% of your basic salary rate. For Sundays and Bank Holidays at time + 60% of your basic salary rate.

Qualifications and Experience

Registered Practitioner with proven experience in an Acute setting
NMC/HPC Registered
Proven experience at a senior level
Ability to assess, plan and evaluate patient care
Knowledge of research and evidence-based practice
Teaching and assessing/mentorship
Knowledge of CQC
Provide specialised emergency knowledge in a post-op setting
Checking patients’ documentation
Dealing with emergency situations within post operative theatre department
Highly developed physical/clinical skills where accuracy is important
Long periods of post-operative concentration
Manual handling of patients and maneuvering instrumentation and equipment
Daily contact with substances hazardous to health
Flexible to the needs of the business
