Deputy Manager: Domiciliary Care Location: Ripon

Salary: £32,510.40 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours: Full Time 40 hours per week, including participation in the on-call rota

Interview dates: Interviews will be held between 29/06/2026 and 03/07/2026

We have no sponsorships available for this role- you must have the right to work in the UK and a full UK driving license.

Pool car available for business travel between our Ripon, Newcastle, and Leicester branches.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a compassionate, motivated, and experienced Deputy Manager to support the leadership of our domiciliary care service.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced care professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality care and supporting the development of a dedicated team.

About the Role As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to support the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring that the highest standards of care are consistently delivered. You will play a key role in maintaining compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements, supporting staff development, promoting person-centred care, and driving continuous improvement across the service.You will deputise for the Registered Manager when required and contribute to creating a positive culture that puts the people we support at the heart of everything we do.

As part of this role, you will also provide operational support to our other branches in Newcastle and Leicester. This may include travelling to these locations to assist with audits, staff development, training delivery, quality assurance activities, service improvement initiatives, and providing management support as required.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Registered Manager in the operational management of the domiciliary care service.
Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led services in line with CQC Fundamental Standards.
Monitor and maintain high standards of care through audits, quality assurance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support the recruitment, induction, supervision, and ongoing development of care staff.
Conduct staff supervisions, observations, probation reviews, and annual appraisals.
Participate in assessments, care planning, and reviews to ensure person-centred care is delivered effectively.
Support safeguarding investigations, incident management, and risk assessment processes.
Assist with rota management and workforce planning to ensure continuity of care.
Build and maintain positive relationships with service users, families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
Participate in the management on-call rota.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

Essential Requirements

NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
A willingness to work towards a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care, if not already achieved.
Previous experience working within domiciliary care.
Experience supervising or leading care staff.
Good knowledge of CQC regulations and Fundamental Standards, safeguarding adults, Mental Capacity Act principles, Health and Safety requirements, and person-centred care approaches.
Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
Confidence using IT systems and electronic care management software.
A full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle for work purposes, and willingness to travel to support our branches in Newcastle and Leicester as required.

Desirable

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care.
Experience undertaking audits and quality assurance activities.
Experience with rota management and workforce planning.
Previous experience deputising in the absence of a Registered Manager.
A Train the Trainer qualification in Moving and Handling.
A Train the Trainer qualification in Medication Administration.
A Train the Trainer qualification in PMVA.
Experience delivering training and competency assessments within a health and social care setting.
