Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Cable Jointers Mate to support our team in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical and cable systems. This role involves working alongside experienced cable jointers to ensure the safe and efficient completion of projects. The successful candidate will gain valuable hands-on experience in the electrical industry, working on a variety of infrastructure projects. A strong focus on safety, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn are essential for this position.

Responsibilities

Assist with the installation and connection of underground and overhead cables using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment
Support with excavation activities, including operating excavators where qualified and safe to do so
Aid in the preparation of sites by clearing debris and setting up safety barriers
Use mechanical knowledge to support cable laying and jointing processes
Assist with the use of electrical testing equipment to verify connections and system integrity
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored after use
Follow all health and safety protocols during project execution

Experience

Previous experience working with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, or mechanical systems is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Basic electrical experience or understanding of electrical systems is beneficial
Mechanical knowledge or experience working with heavy machinery will be considered an asset
A valid UK driving licence is necessary to facilitate site access and transportation arrangements
