Maintenance Operative

Full-Time | Permanent | Estate Agency

About the Role

We are a well-established estate agency looking for a reliable and skilled Maintenance Operative to join our team. You will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of our managed residential and commercial properties. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work and can respond efficiently to both planned and reactive maintenance needs.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out day-to-day repairs and maintenance across a portfolio of managed properties.
Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests from tenants and landlords.
Undertake planned preventative maintenance tasks to keep properties in good condition.
Perform basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, and decorating work.
Carry out property inspections and report any issues or hazards.
Liaise professionally with tenants, landlords, and contractors.
Source materials and manage stock of basic supplies and tools.
Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Keep accurate records of work completed, including photos and written reports.
Assist with end-of-tenancy works such as cleaning, minor repairs, and preparation for new tenants.

Skills & Experience Required

Proven experience in a general maintenance, trades, or handyman role.
Competent in a range of practical skills including basic plumbing, carpentry, and decorating and basic electrical works
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
Good communication skills with a professional and courteous manner.
Full UK driving license (essential).
Knowledge of health and safety practices in the workplace.
Experience within a property management or estate agency environment is desirable but not essential.
