Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle safety inspections in accordance with legal standards, ensuring vehicles meet required safety and environmental regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for automotive technology and a keen eye for detail to develop their career within a professional environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct MOT tests on a variety of vehicle makes and models in compliance with DVSA regulations.
Inspect vehicle components including brakes, tyres, lights, steering, suspension, and exhaust systems.
Identify faults or issues requiring repair or further investigation and communicate findings clearly to customers.
Complete all necessary documentation accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
Maintain the MOT bay and testing equipment to ensure safety and operational standards are met.
Keep up-to-date with current MOT legislation and technical developments within the automotive industry.

Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment.
Excellent attention to detail to identify faults accurately during inspections.
Good organisational skills to manage multiple tests efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Relevant MOT testing qualification recognised by the DVSA is desirable but not essential; ongoing training will be provided for the right candidate. This position is ideal for motivated individuals seeking to advance their expertise within a reputable automotive workshop, committed to safety, quality, and professional development.
