Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Mobile Dog Groomer to join The Hound Machine grooming team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality grooming services to a variety of dog breeds, ensuring each pet’s comfort and safety throughout the process. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a friendly environment where animal welfare and customer satisfaction are our top priorities. The Mobile Dog Groomer will play a vital part in maintaining our reputation for exceptional pet grooming standards. This role is initially offered on a part time (2-3 days per week) self employed basis.

Areas covered: Dartford , Crayford, Bexley and surrounding areas

Responsibilities

Bathing, drying, and brushing dogs of all sizes and breeds using appropriate grooming techniques and equipment
Trimming, clipping, and styling coats according to breed standards or customer preferences
Inspecting each dog for skin conditions, parasites, or abnormalities and flagging concerns to pet owners where necessary
Ensuring the safety and comfort of animals during grooming procedures
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of grooming tools, and mobile work areas
Providing excellent customer service by advising pet owners on grooming needs and aftercare instructions
Handling heavy lifting when necessary, such as lifting larger dogs onto grooming tables or into bathing tubs
Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times during grooming sessions

Experience

Proven experience in dog grooming
Strong understanding of different dog breeds and their specific grooming requirements
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
Ability to handle animals gently yet confidently, ensuring a stress-free experience for each pet
Physical stamina for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods
Excellent time keeping and ability to work independently.
Candidates must be over the age of 25 and have a full clean manual driving licence and be comfortable driving a medium wheel based van.
