Job Summary

Hoopers Department Stores are looking for Customer Accounts Assistants to work in their busy finance office based in Torquay, for 2 days a week. The main responsibility of this role will be the administration of the Hoopers Account Card customer payments. This is a call-centre role where office experience and good accounting software skills will be required.

Job Type / Category

Part Time – 2 days per week, e.g. Mon-Tues or Fri-Sat, some Sundays in December (Xmas shopping)

Duties will include:

Answering inbound customer/store telephone queries
Processing of daily payments to customers' accounts, including cheques, direct debits and bank giro credits
Use of MS Office (Excel, Word)
Use of in-house computerised accounting program
Daily correspondence including emails and faxes
Filing, scanning
New account processing: account opening, loyalty opening, and card distribution
Cash handling and sending of post
Chasing outstanding debts by phone and letter, e.g. statements, written reminders
General administrative tasks

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will be proficient in the use of computers and have excellent communication skills, attention to detail and an enthusiastic and flexible approach.

Previous experience is an advantage, training will be given.

Pay: £12.71 per hour
