Full job description

We are looking for a reliable and committed full-time Cleaner to support our nursery team by maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for the children, staff, and visitors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all nursery areas are cleaned to a high standard each day, following health and safety procedures and supporting the smooth running of the setting.

Responsibilities include:

Carrying out daily cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and wiping down surfaces
Cleaning and sanitising toilets, washrooms, sinks, and changing areas
Emptying bins and disposing of rubbish safely and correctly
Keeping all rooms, corridors, and shared areas clean, tidy, and presentable
Replenishing washroom supplies where required
Following nursery cleaning schedules and hygiene procedures
Using cleaning products and equipment safely and appropriately
Reporting any damage, hazards, or maintenance concerns to the Management team
Helping to ensure the nursery remains a safe and welcoming environment at all times

Requirements:

Previous cleaning experience, ideally within a nursery, school, office, or commercial setting
DBS checked or willing to complete a DBS check
Good understanding of cleanliness, hygiene, and safe working practices
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Strong attention to detail
Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Able to carry out physical cleaning duties, including bending, lifting, and standing for periods of time

This is a full-time position suitable for someone who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of maintaining high standards of cleanliness within a childcare environment.
