Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a friendly and professional Front of House Team Member to join our dynamic team. This role involves delivering excellent customer service, ensuring smooth restaurant operations, and creating a welcoming environment for all guests. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food service, strong organisational skills, and a positive attitude. Previous experience in a restaurant or food service setting is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly and seat them promptly, providing attentive and courteous service throughout their visit
Take accurate food and drink orders, ensuring timely delivery to optimise customer satisfaction
Assist with food preparation tasks in line with food safety standards and restaurant procedures
Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area, including tables, counters, and service stations
Handle cash transactions accurately using the POS system and manage basic maths calculations for bills and change
Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation when required
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve guests efficiently without compromising quality

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper serving techniques is desirable
Familiarity with food preparation processes and kitchen operations is a plus
Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours
Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance guest experience and increase sales
Good organisational skills with attention to detail in order-taking and cash handling
A friendly demeanour with excellent communication skills and a professional attitude
