Junior Project Manager – Construction

About iHus

iHus specialises in the design and construction of high-quality, timber-frame residential annexes across the UK

Our projects provide purpose-built living accommodation for families, supporting multigenerational living, independence and future care needs. Every project is delivered within a customer’s home environment, meaning that strong organisation, clear communication and attention to detail are essential throughout the build

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Junior Project Manager to join our Operations team

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in construction, project coordination, site administration or customer service who is looking to progress into project management.

Working alongside our Operations Manager and experienced Project Managers, you will support the delivery of timber-frame annexe projects from pre-start through to completion and customer handover

You will help coordinate customers, site teams, subcontractors, materials, project information and programme dates, ensuring that actions are completed and potential issues are identified early

As your knowledge and confidence develop, you will take increasing responsibility for your own projects, initially focusing on lower-risk and less complex builds

This is a genuine development role with structured support, training and clear progression into a Project Manager position

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting the planning and delivery of construction projects from pre-start to completion
Maintaining regular and professional communication with customers
Attending site visits, project meetings, progress reviews and customer handovers
Reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules and project information
Monitoring project progress against the agreed build programme
Coordinating routine site activities, appointments, deliveries and access arrangements
Working closely with Site Leads, Build Teams, subcontractors and internal departments
Monitoring material availability and escalating shortages or delivery issues
Supporting labour and resource planning across allocated projects
Maintaining accurate project records, actions, dates, photographs and documentation
Assisting with quality inspections, snagging and pre-handover reviews
Recording defects or incomplete works and following actions through to completion
Promoting compliance with the iHus Build Manual and project specifications
Supporting health and safety inspections and reporting any concerns promptly
Identifying potential delays, risks or customer concerns and escalating them early
Supporting the recording and approval of project variations
Helping ensure sites remain safe, organised and professionally presented
Using company project-management and communication systems consistently

You will not be expected to know everything from day one. However, you must be willing to learn, ask questions, take ownership of actions and respond positively to coaching and feedback

About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and motivated to build a career in construction project management.

You will need:

Strong organisational and time-management skills.
The ability to manage multiple actions, priorities and deadlines.
Clear and professional written and verbal communication.
Confidence communicating with customers, colleagues and site teams.
Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.
A practical and solutions-focused approach.
The confidence to raise concerns and escalate issues when required.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
A willingness to learn construction methods, drawings and specifications.
The ability to work independently while also contributing to a wider team.
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites.

Experience

Previous experience in one or more of the following would be beneficial:

Construction project coordination
Assistant or junior project management
Site administration or site supervision
Residential, timber-frame or modular construction
Customer-facing construction roles
Scheduling, planning or resource coordination
Construction procurement or material coordination
Project-management, CRM or document-control systems

Previous experience managing complete construction projects is not essential

We would also welcome applications from experienced Site Administrators, Project Coordinators, Assistant Site Managers or construction professionals looking to move into project management

Qualifications

A construction, engineering or project-management qualification at Level 3 or above would be advantageous but is not essential

Knowledge of construction health and safety, CDM requirements or building regulations would also be beneficial. Relevant training will be provided as part of your development
