Trainee Accountant / Accounts Assistant

Location: Pinner, Middlesex
Salary: £24,500 - £26,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

About Us

We are a successful and forward-thinking accountancy practice based in Pinner, providing a wide range of accounting, taxation and business advisory services to owner-managed businesses and individuals.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Accountant to join our friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in accountancy and gain exposure to all areas of practice.

The Role

You will work closely with experienced colleagues and receive support and training across a variety of accounting and taxation disciplines. This is a hands-on role offering excellent career development opportunities.

Your responsibilities will include:

Bookkeeping and bank reconciliations using Excel and accounting software
Assisting with the preparation of VAT returns and management accounts
Supporting the preparation of annual accounts and tax returns
Assisting with monthly payroll processing and year-end payroll duties
Supporting company secretarial work
Responding to day-to-day client queries in a professional manner
Maintaining accurate records and ensuring deadlines are met
Providing excellent client service at all times

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

Motivated and keen to develop a career in accountancy
Numerate with strong attention to detail
Organised and able to manage multiple tasks
A strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
Comfortable working with Excel and Microsoft Office
Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Professional, reliable and eager to learn

Qualifications & Experience

A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related subject is desirable but not essential
Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience is advantageous but not required
Experience with accounting software would be beneficial
