Quality Inspector – Join a Precision Engineering Team That Takes Pride in Every Detail

Are you an experienced Quality Inspector with a keen eye for detail and a passion for precision engineering? A&B Engineering (Southern) Ltd is growing, and we’re looking for the right person to help ensure the quality of our high-precision components across a wide range of challenging projects.

We are a well-established, family-run business serving industries where accuracy and reliability matter. Our clean, modern workshop and expert team deliver consistently high standards—and we want someone who shares that commitment to quality.

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience as a Quality Inspector in a precision engineering environment
Confident in the use of manual inspection equipment (micrometers, verniers, height gauges, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances
Experience with inspection documentation (FAIRs, ISIRs, etc.)
Skilled in the operation and programming of Aberlink CMM equipment (preferred)
Detail-focused, proactive, and able to work independently
Strong communicator, able to liaise effectively with machinists and management

Key Responsibilities

Inspecting components at various stages of manufacture to verify conformity to specifications
Completing and maintaining accurate inspection records and reports
Assisting in resolving quality issues and implementing process improvements
Supporting customer and internal audits when required

Working Hours & Benefits

This is a full-time, permanent position working 38 hours per week. Our standard working hours are:

Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
Friday: 7:30am – 1:30pm

Overtime is offered when available.

Holiday entitlement is currently 28 days per annum including all English public/bank holidays.

You will automatically be enrolled into the company pension scheme, which is subject to normal conditions regarding new employees

On-site parking available for all staff

A competitive hourly rate will be offered, depending on experience.
