PCE Technology is one of the Southwest’s leading suppliers of two-way radio and communication systems. We’re growing, and we’re looking for a Radio Systems Engineer to join our small, highly skilled team.
You might already be an experienced Radio Systems Engineer. Or perhaps you’re an engineer, technician, vehicle installer or simply someone with a strong technical aptitude who knows they have the ability, drive and common sense to become one.
Either way, if you’re the sort of person who sees a problem and thinks “I’ll figure it out”, we’d like to hear from you.
This is a varied, hands-on role. No two days are necessarily the same, and you’ll be involved throughout the customer journey — from understanding what a customer needs and specifying the right solution, through to installation, programming, fault-finding and ongoing system maintenance.
You’ll work closely with customers, manufacturers and the rest of our team to deliver communication systems that genuinely solve problems and work reliably in the real world.
What you'll be doing
Your role will cover a broad range of technical and customer-facing activities, including:
- Attending customer sites to carry out pre-installation surveys and assess requirements.
- Developing project documentation, including photographs, recommendations and equipment specifications.
- Preparing, programming and configuring radio equipment and systems.
- Creating and managing codeplugs.
- Installing and maintaining new and existing radio communication systems.
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out radio repairs.
- Installing communication and associated equipment into vehicles.
- Working directly with customers to understand their requirements and find the right solution.
- Liaising with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure we deliver the best possible outcome.
- Supporting projects from initial specification through to installation and long-term maintenance.
Who we're looking for
Experience is valuable, but attitude, aptitude and common sense are just as important.
We're deliberately open-minded about where your experience comes from. You don't have to have spent your career working with two-way radio.
You might come from radio engineering, electronics, electrical engineering, CCTV, fire and security, vehicle installation, telecommunications, networking or another technical engineering environment. You may have skills and experience that are different from ours — and that's something we see as a positive.

Working hours
Monday–Thursday: 09:00–17:00
Friday: 09:00–16:30
30-minute lunch break each day.
37 hours per week.
Flexitime is possible, although occasional early starts or late finishes may be required depending on customer requirements and project work.
