Must be fully flexible over 7 days to include working during our busiest trading days Saturday and/or Sunday

The role
We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Ecommerce Assistant Manager to support the growth of our online sales channels. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for online retail, fashion, and resale platforms to help drive sales and deliver an excellent customer experience.
The successful candidate will assist in managing our ecommerce operations across multiple marketplaces and social selling channels, ensuring products are listed accurately, orders are processed efficiently, and online sales continue to grow.
Key Responsibilities

Create, manage, and optimise product listings across ecommerce platforms.
- Process and dispatch customer orders in a timely manner.
- Monitor stock levels and update inventory across online channels.
- Respond to customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally.
- Analyse sales performance and identify opportunities to increase revenue.
- Support the planning and delivery of promotional campaigns.
- Assist with photography, product descriptions, and merchandising.
- Participate in live selling events to engage customers and drive sales.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy and organisation within ecommerce operations.
About You

Essential:

Previous experience in an ecommerce or online retail role.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Confident using social media and online selling platforms.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable:

Experience selling on eBay, Vinted, and Depop.
- Experience with live selling platforms and social commerce.
- Knowledge of product photography and listing optimisation.
- Understanding of inventory management systems.

33 days per annum, which includes bank holidays (pro rata for part time), increasing after five and 10 years’ service.

Purpose and impact
Katharine House Hospice provides all its services free of charge to patients and their families. In order to do this funds need to be raised, Katharine House Retail is key to this, maximising the funds it can raise through the sale of donated items and other merchandising.
Part of the team
The Ecommerce Assistant Manager supports the day-to-day operations, performance, and growth of the company’s online sales channels. This role is responsible for optimising website performance, managing product listings, analysing sales data, and executing digital campaigns to drive revenue and improve customer experience.
Core Responsibilities
Key Area - Responsibilities & Outputs
Ecommerce Operations

Support the management of the ecommerce website(s), ensuring all content, products, and promotions are accurate and up to date
- Upload and maintain product listings, including descriptions, pricing, images, and categorisation
- Monitor stock levels online and coordinate with merchandising or supply teams
- Ensure smooth order processing and liaise with customer service for issue resolution
Performance & Analytics

Track and analyse key ecommerce KPIs (conversion rate, average order value, traffic, revenue)
- Generate regular performance reports with insights and recommendations
- Identify opportunities to improve site performance and user journey
Digital Marketing Support

Assist in planning and executing campaigns across email, paid media, SEO, and social channels
- Support promotional calendar execution (sales, launches, seasonal events)
- Work with marketing teams to ensure brand consistency across digital platforms
Website Optimisation

Assist with onsite merchandising (homepage, category pages, product recommendations)
- Support A/B testing and UX improvements
- Identify and troubleshoot website issues, escalating where needed
Marketplace & Channel Management (if applicable)

Support management of third-party platforms (e.g., Amazon, eBay, marketplaces)
- Ensure product data and pricing are consistent across all channels
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with marketing, IT, logistics, and buying teams
- Support new product launches and digital initiatives
- Assist in coordinating external agencies or partners

Skills Requirements
Essential

Previous experience in an ecommerce or digital retail role
- Strong analytical skills with experience using tools such as Google Analytics, Shopify, Magento, or similar platforms
- Good understanding of digital marketing channels
- High attention to detail and organisational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, reporting)
Desirable
- Experience with CMS platforms and ecommerce systems
- Knowledge of SEO and conversion rate optimisation (CRO)
- Experience with marketplaces (e.g., Amazon Seller Central)
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS
- Experience of live selling.
