Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Temporary Credit Controller to join our finance team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing customer accounts, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining strong client relationships. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a dynamic organisation, utilising various accounting software tools. The role is ideal for individuals with a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of credit control processes.

Duties

Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure prompt payment of outstanding invoices
Contact customers via phone, email, or letter to follow up on overdue payments
Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies efficiently and professionally
Maintain accurate records of all communications and transactions within the accounting system
Assist in preparing reports on debt collection activities and outstanding balances
Utilise accounting software Navision
Approving payment plans in line with company policy. Ensuring customer adhere to the plan.
Completing trade references for customers.
Identify, maintain and amend customers who should be on the no letter list.
Monitor and maintain credit limits ensuring that they are in line with company policy.
Cover the AR admin role when required.
Support the wider finance team with ad hoc tasks related to credit control as required

Skills

Proven experience with accounting software desirable
Strong understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Clear communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional approach to client interactions
Ability to work independently whilst maintaining attention to detail
Proficiency in using various accounting tools and software for data entry and reporting
Previous experience in credit control or a similar finance role is desirable but not essential

Pay: £24,420.00-£30,000.00 per year
