Job Summary

Children's Learning Tree Nursery are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join our team. Who will be responsible for providing high-quality care and early education for children aged 2-4 years, supporting their learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The role involves creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can learn through play, develop key skills, and build positive relationships.

The Nursery offers high quality sessional care. It operates 8:30am - 15:30 term time only.

Responsibilities will include:

To provide high-quality care and education for children aged 2–4 years in a safe and nurturing environment.
Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Support children’s learning and development through play-based experiences.
Observe, assess, and record children’s progress, ensuring individual needs are met.
Promote children’s independence, confidence, and social skills.
Build positive and professional relationships with parents and carers, sharing updates on children’s development.
Ensure child-to-staff ratios are consistently maintained and that, outdoor risk assessments, and internal domestic area checks are complete daily.
Ensure the environment is clean, safe, and well-organised at all times.
Follow safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the welfare of all children.
Work effectively as part of a team to support the smooth running of the setting.
Support children with personal care routines, including toileting, hygiene, and snack/mealtime.
Encourage inclusive practice and support children with additional needs where required.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with nursery policies and statutory requirements.
To assist in compiling policies and ensure all policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to at all time.

Essential

CACHE level 3, NVQ level 3, EYFS or equivalent qualification.
Previous experience working with children aged 2-4 years in a nursery, preschool, or early years setting.
Experience supporting children's learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Experience planning and delivering age-appropriate activities to support early learning.
Knowledge and experience of Ofsted standards.
Proven ability to communicate effectively in English with children, parents, and team members

Desirable

Safeguarding lead or SENCO qualification.
Leadership experience within childcare environments is desirable but not essential.
Familiar with online learning journal systems, specifically Tapestry.

Children's Learning Tree Nursery has the rigorous pre-employment checks. All employees are required to have a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check returned and 2 satisfactory references in place before an offer can be formally confirmed. We also expect our staff to be registered with the update service for the duration of their employment. This ensures we maintain our high standards of care provision.
