Shift Leader / Senior Residential Support Worker
Children’s Residential Home (EBD / Ofsted Regulated)

Location: Cheshunt (EN7) & Tottenham (N17)
Salary: £31,200 – £32,200 per annum
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Weekends & Sleep-Ins

Are you an experienced Residential Support Worker looking to take the next step in your career? Do you have a passion for helping young people overcome challenges and reach their full potential?

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Senior Residential Support Worker / Shift Leader to join our Ofsted-regulated children's residential homes in Cheshunt and Tottenham, supporting young people aged 10–17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your leadership skills within a supportive, therapeutic, and trauma-informed environment where every day presents the chance to make a lasting impact.

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in leading shifts, supporting colleagues, and ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and professional practice are consistently delivered.

What You'll Be Doing

Leading shifts and acting as the senior practitioner on duty
Delivering high-quality, child-centred care and support
Building positive, trusting, and therapeutic relationships with young people
Supporting young people with daily routines, education, activities, appointments, and family contact
Providing guidance, mentoring, and support to Residential Support Workers
Promoting safeguarding, positive behaviour support, and trauma-informed practice
Completing and reviewing care records, incident reports, and other documentation
Working collaboratively with social workers, families, schools, and external professionals
Helping to create a safe, nurturing, and stable home environment where young people can thrive

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A minimum of 2 years' experience within a children's residential setting or similar environment
A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or be working towards it)
Experience leading or supporting shifts within a residential childcare service
A strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, trauma-informed care, and behaviour management
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
A calm, resilient, and compassionate approach
A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people
A full UK driving licence (preferred)
