Working Full time: 37.5 hours per week

The Radiology Directorate has a full range of modern specialty imaging services. All our general x-ray rooms are DR and we provide a cone beam dental service. We operate over two sites, which includes Ellesmere Port Hospital. This is where our newly opened Community Diagnostic Hub (CDH) is located. In the CDH we CT/MRI/Ultrasound/DEXA and Plain Film Departments. This enables us to provide the best possible Diagnostic Service for our patients. In the near future we will be expanding our Interventional Radiology department with two new suites and day ward.

The Trust has recently built a Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) and there is a new Women and Childrens Building

The Countess of Chester Hospital is the Regional Vascular Centre and also a Trauma Unit.

Reporting facilities include a Reporting Radiographer room and a larger reading room which is shared with the Consultant Radiologists.

Further reporting stations are found in multiple offices and there is also a Registrar reading room.

Full time hours are preferred however a part time post may be considered.

Time will be given to SPR and image acquisition sessions. REALM participation is essential.

Most of the team have opted to have home reporting stations. When working from home staff are required to clear the 12 hour turnaround time cases until at least 8pm leaving the remaining hours from that day to be taken when desired. Some reporting will be required at the weekend to ensure the 12 hour turnaround cases are cleared. This is paid at overtime rates.

We meet all of the national turnaround times and maintain a consistently low backlog. During the day, Emergency Department and Inpatient cases are reported as they are acquired.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Reporting Radiographer to join our friendly and dynamic team. The successful candidate would need at least 3 years post qualification reporting experience, ideally covering MSK reporting plus adult chest and abdominal reporting.

The Trust’s services are provided from three locations:

The Countess of Chester Hospital: providing 473 general and acute beds.
Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 60 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility.
Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services which serve the local rural population.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust employs 5,964 staff (headcount) to provide care and treatment to a population of over 400,000 people living in Chester and West Cheshire which includes Ellesmere Port and Neston as well as the Deeside area of Flintshire.

The Trust works collaboratively within the wider Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care System. Due to its location on the border with North Wales, the Trust also works closely with the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

The Trust treats patients from England and some parts of Wales. During 2024/2025, there were approximately 643,000 patient attendances (inpatient, A&E, outpatient and diagnostic) ranging from a simple outpatient appointment to major cancer surgery
