Full job description

MOR Kitchen is a high-volume brunch café and bakery focused on seasonal food, thoughtful sourcing, and exceptional coffee.

We care about how things are done. From the way coffee is poured to how plates land on the table, details matter. We’re building a team that holds a high standard and backs each other to deliver it.

The role

We’re looking for an Assistant Manager who is confident running a busy brunch service, understands table service flow, and is comfortable maintaining strong coffee standards.

This is a floor-led role. You will be expected to take ownership during service, support the team, and keep things moving without being asked.

What you’ll be doing

Day-time shifts (8:30 - 4:30)
Leading from the floor during busy services
Setting the pace, energy, and standard for the team
Delivering confident, attentive table service
Maintaining consistent, high-quality coffee
Supporting and developing the front of house team
Managing service flow between kitchen and floor
Taking responsibility for opening and closing
Ensuring the café is clean, organised, and ready for service

What we’re looking for

Proven experience in a brunch café or restaurant with full table service
Strong barista skills and confidence working with coffee at pace is desirable but can be trained
Someone who naturally takes ownership and leads from the front
Calm under pressure and able to make decisions quickly
High attention to detail across service and environment
A team player who raises standards, not lowers them
Good understanding of food hygiene and operational basics

Standing back instead of leading service
Letting standards slip when it gets busy
Needing constant direction to stay on track
