Midlands Design & Build is a construction and project management company helping homeowners across Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield and the wider Midlands with extensions, loft conversions, renovations, kitchens, bathrooms and full project management from design to completion.

We are looking for a creative, reliable and motivated Social Media & Marketing Assistant to help set up, manage and grow our online presence across Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.

This role would suit someone who understands short-form video content, social media growth, video editing, captions, adverts and lead generation.

The main aim is not just to post content — the goal is to make Midlands Design & Build look professional online and help generate genuine enquiries from homeowners looking for building work.

What You Will Be Helping With

Setting up Instagram, Facebook and TikTok accounts
Managing the social media pages long-term
Editing existing construction/site videos
Creating short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels and Facebook
Adding captions/subtitles
Adding text overlays and calls-to-action
Adding music and professional finishing touches
Creating branded intro/outro sections using our logo and brand colours
Making TikTok/Reels-style adverts from existing footage
Creating 10–20 short clips from video footage each month
Posting content regularly across all platforms
Writing captions and hashtags
Helping create paid adverts for Instagram, Facebook and TikTok
Helping turn video views into real enquiries and leads
Tracking which videos and adverts are performing best
Suggesting creative ideas to attract homeowners

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal person should be:

Creative and confident with social media
Experienced with Instagram, Facebook and TikTok
Able to edit short videos/Reels/TikToks
Good at writing captions and hooks
Able to create professional-looking content
Reliable and organised
Able to work independently
Interested in property, construction, interiors or home improvement
Able to think of ideas to help generate leads

Experience with construction, property, real estate, home improvement or local service businesses would be a big advantage.

Voiceover / Video Content

We are also interested in someone who can help with:

Adding voiceovers to videos
Arranging a UK/British voiceover artist if needed
Creating advert-style videos
Creating professional video content that can be used for both organic posting and paid adverts

Experience

Proven experience in social media management and content creation.
Strong understanding of public relations principles and techniques.
Excellent written communication skills with an eye for detail.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of digital marketing tools and analytics platforms is desirable but not essential.
Prior experience within the construction or home improvement industry is a plus but not mandatory. This role offers a flexible schedule suited for individuals eager to expand their marketing expertise within a dynamic industry environment while contributing to the growth of a reputable company.

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Sutton Coldfield (West Midlands)
