Early Years Practitioner (Level 3)

Tots ‘R’ Us Nursery – Eastlea Community Centre

30 hours per week, term time only (plus paid preparation time)

Start date: September 2026

Eastlea Community Centre is looking for a motivated, caring and experienced Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join our Children, Young People and Families Service.

The successful candidate will mainly work within Tots ‘R’ Us Nursery, supporting children aged 1–4 years, while also contributing to our wider services and community work.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about giving children the best possible start, who understands the importance of relationships, play, and high-quality interactions in early education.

We are looking for someone who shares our commitment to creating a nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued and confident to explore, learn and develop.

What we’re looking for:

A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (applicants are encouraged to check the current GOV.UK approved qualification list before applying)

A minimum of a Grade C (or equivalent) in English, or a recognised equivalent qualification

Experience working within an early years setting

Strong knowledge and understanding of the EYFS Statutory Framework

Knowledge of child development and how children learn through play and meaningful experiences

A reflective practitioner who can observe, assess and support children’s next steps

Someone who values teamwork and contributes positively to the nursery environment

Confidence in supporting children’s communication, emotional development and independence

An understanding of inclusion, SEND and adapting practice to meet individual children’s needs

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare

What we offer:

30 hours per week, term time only, plus paid preparation hours

5.6 weeks paid annual leave plus statutory/public holidays

Salary at or above National Minimum Wage, depending on experience and qualification
