Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Health Care Assistant to join our team on a AD-HOC basis to care homes around the area.

This role involves providing high-quality support to residents in care homes across leek and surrounding areas such as Stoke-on-Trent. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering person-centred care, ensuring the comfort, safety, and wellbeing of those they assist. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about making a positive difference in people's lives while developing their skills within the health and social care sector.

Responsibilities

Assisting residents or clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
Supporting individuals with their care plans to meet individual needs and preferences
Providing companionship and emotional support to residents or clients
Monitoring health conditions and reporting any concerns to senior staff
Helping with medication administration as per care plans and training (If employed as a senior)
Maintaining accurate records of care provided and observations made
Ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all residents or clients
Communicating effectively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals

Skills

Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to work effectively within a team environment
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
Basic IT skills for record keeping and documentation purposes
Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support others’ wellbeing
Ability to follow detailed care plans accurately
Valid driving license is desirable for roles involving home visits or transportation duties but not essential for most roles

Pay: From £13.00 per hour
