We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Housing Support Officer to join our Supported Housing team in Watford, managing a caseload of up to 18 residents and providing high-quality, person-centred support to individuals on their journey towards independent living.

About the Role: As a Housing Support Officer, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of up to 18 residents, balancing practical tenancy management with tailored support and guidance. Working as part of a committed, values-driven team, you will empower individuals to build confidence, increase independence and move positively towards their next steps.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of up to 18 residents, providing consistent, structured and person-centred support.
Provide tenancy and licence support, ensuring residents understand their rights and responsibilities.
Complete and review support plans, Outcome Stars and risk assessments to monitor progress and identify support needs.
Develop and implement personalised support plans that promote tenancy sustainment and independence.
Encourage engagement, wellbeing and personal development through meaningful activities and goal-focused support.
Maintain accurate and timely records in line with organisational policies and legal requirements.
Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes for residents.

What We're Looking For!

You will bring:

Experience of working within supported housing, tenancy support, homelessness services or a related field.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and motivate individuals from diverse backgrounds.
A proactive, empathetic and solution-focused approach to supporting vulnerable adults.
Confidence in balancing supportive interventions with legal, safeguarding and procedural responsibilities.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage a caseload of up to 18 residents in a fast-paced environment.
A commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred support and achieving positive outcomes.

Hours per week: 37.5
Working Pattern: Monday to Sunday Varied Shifts incl BH

One YMCA and its subsidiaries, the Early Childhood Partnership (ECP) and Signpost are on an exciting journey to double our impact by 2025. By the end of these three days, there was a brilliantly multi-faceted set of themes and ideas, which formed the starting point for the rest of the Mission 25 process to build on. The aim of Mission 25 is to give every staff member and volunteer the opportunity to play their part in shaping the strategy to do “more and better, together” so that we double our impact by 2025. We deliver a vast array of services across Herts, Beds and Bucks that reach over 135,000 individuals annually.

These include:

Provision of over 700 units of accommodation for homeless people
Move on accommodation for individuals moving onto independent living
Housing and practical/emotional support for young asylum seekers
Community HUBs hosting a range of activities and meeting space hire
Childcare provision in Hertfordshire
Family support through a network of children’s and family centres covering Hertfordshire and Bedford
Therapeutic and non-therapeutic support for male and female victims of domestic abuse and their children
Independent sexual violence services across Bedfordshire, Luton and Hertfordshire
Domestic abuse perpetrator reform programmes across Bedfordshire
Youth services offering emotional wellbeing support and youth club opportunities for 11-19 year olds alongside our National Airplay programme funded by the RAF Benevolent Fund
