Full job description

There has never been a better time to join our established and skilled team within CAMHS. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the further growth and development of crisis care provision for the children and young people across North Wales. This post, bast in the East area of North Wales, will provide caring clinicians with flexibility, autonomy and professional growth and development.

As part of our transformation and development of Child and Adolescent Mental Health services, we are strengthening our leadership, pathways and services to provide a rapid, robust and extended multi-agency crisis response that includes prompt assessment, liaison, consultation, training and where appropriate intensive time limited interventions for children and young people up to the age of 18, who are experiencing an acute mental health and/or psycho-social crisis.

We are looking to recruit experienced, registered practitioners and welcome applications from applicants who have not worked in CAMHS, or are looking for a Band 6 development opportunity, but have transferable skills relevant to the role. We would welcome skills and experience in working with young people and families with complex difficulties, experience in completing mental health assessments and risk management.

You will undertake assessments within A+E, paediatric wards & other community settings to provide a rapid crisis response, consistent with identified needs, to ensure the safety of the young person & others.

Provide clinical formulation, identifying the young person’s & family’s needs, offer liaison, consultation & brief intervention where required to facilitate safe discharge & support care planning across partner agencies. You will be required to work flexibly as the service develops to a 24hr provision.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
