Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Vehicle Technician and MOT Tester to join our professional team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with vehicle maintenance and repairs. This role involves conducting MOT tests, diagnosing vehicle issues, and performing repairs to ensure vehicles meet safety and environmental standards. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about automotive technology to develop their skills within a reputable workshop environment.

This role is suited to those who want to work in a strong team orientated workshop where self motivated individuals will thrive without the performance targets set by main dealers.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive MOT tests in accordance with legal requirements and safety standards.
Diagnose vehicle faults using specialised tools and equipment.
Perform routine servicing, repairs, and maintenance on a variety of vehicle makes and models.
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment efficiently to carry out repairs.
Assist with heavy lifting tasks, including moving parts or components safely within the workshop.
Maintain accurate records of work carried out and parts used for each vehicle.
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations at all times.
Keep the work area clean, organised, and safe for all team members.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Motor Vehicle Technician or similar role.
Valid MOT tester certification recognised by relevant authorities.
Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Relevant qualifications in automotive engineering or equivalent are desirable but not essential.
