Overview

Paton Feaver Ltd is an established and growing St. James's Place Partner Practice seeking an experienced Practice Director to lead the next phase of business growth.

This role provides operational, commercial and people leadership across the practice, ensuring strong financial performance, exceptional client outcomes, regulatory compliance, and a high-performing culture.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

Develop and deliver the practice growth strategy alongside the Practice Principal.
Identify opportunities for business growth, adviser recruitment, succession planning and acquisitions.
Drive revenue growth, profitability, adviser productivity and client value.
Manage budgets, performance reporting and cost optimisation.
Ensure client retention and maximise ongoing and initial advice fee income.

Operational Management

Lead day-to-day practice operations, including client onboarding, business processing and case management.
Implement systems, technology and process improvements to support scalable growth.
Maintain effective oversight of CRM utilisation, management information and workflow management.
Manage third-party suppliers and service providers to ensure value for money and operational effectiveness.
Lead projects and business change initiatives.

People Leadership

Lead, develop and performance manage advisers, Practice Support Specialists and outsourced support teams.
Create a high-performance, client-focused culture.
Conduct regular one-to-ones, training and development reviews.
Ensure resources are deployed efficiently and succession plans are in place.
Support the Practice Principal at client events and business development activities.

Governance & Compliance

Ensure compliance with FCA regulations, SJP governance requirements and internal policies.
Maintain oversight of advice standards, risk management, controls and professional development requirements.
Support Chartered status standards and ongoing regulatory obligations.

Client & Stakeholder Management

Deliver an exceptional client experience.
Build strong relationships with clients, introducers, the SJP Field Management Team and key suppliers.
Drive client engagement, referral activity and effective internal communication.
Act as an escalation point for operational, client and team issues.

Candidate Profile Experience

Senior leadership experience within Wealth Management, Financial Planning or Financial Services.
Proven track record of driving business growth, operational improvement and commercial performance.
Experience working within a regulated environment.

Qualifications

Level 4 Diploma (DipPFS or equivalent) essential.
Chartered status desirable.
