Commis Chef

The Merry Harriers is an award-winning country pub known for exceptional food, warm hospitality, and a passion for seasonal British produce. Proudly recognised among the Top 50 Estrella Gastro Pubs, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Commis Chef to join our kitchen team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone at the early stages of their chef career who is eager to learn, develop, and work within a professional fine dining kitchen environment.

The Role

As Commis Chef, you will support the senior kitchen team in preparing and delivering high-quality dishes while developing your skills and experience in all areas of the kitchen.

Responsibilities include:

Assisting with food preparation and kitchen setup
Learning and supporting different kitchen sections
Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards
Helping with stock rotation and organisation
Supporting the team during busy service periods
Following guidance from senior chefs and developing your culinary skills

What We’re Looking For

A genuine passion for food and hospitality
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Ability to work well as part of a team
Good timekeeping and reliability
Calm and hardworking approach under pressure
Some kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential
