Full job description

Help us build one of Newcastle's most exciting hospitality brands.

At The Mad House, we don't believe in average.

With two unique city centre venues, we're all about creating unforgettable experiences through incredible drinks, amazing food, great service and a venue unlike anywhere else in Newcastle.

We're now looking for an ambitious Events & Bookings Manager to help us continue growing.

This role is much more than answering booking enquiries.

We're looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, spotting opportunities and helping grow the business. You'll play a key role in increasing bookings, creating exciting events, developing partnerships and ensuring every guest has an amazing experience from their first enquiry through to the day they visit us.

What you'll be doing

Managing all booking enquiries across both venues
Responding to customers by email, phone and social media
Following up enquiries to maximise booking conversions
Building relationships with local businesses, hotels, universities and event organisers
Creating and developing new events, packages and promotions
Identifying opportunities to increase bookings during quieter trading periods
Working closely with the management and marketing teams to grow the business
Hosting and looking after key bookings during Saturday service
Gathering customer feedback to continually improve our events
Maintaining accurate booking records and customer information

What we're looking for

Experience in hospitality, events or sales would be an advantage, but isn't essential for the right person.

What you'll receive

£14.00–£15.00 per hour depending on experience
Tronc
Performance-related commission on qualifying new business generated
20–30 hour contract
Hybrid working available once established within the role (subject to business needs and performance)
Regular Saturday shifts, giving you the opportunity to meet guests you've booked, oversee key events and understand the customer experience first-hand
Staff discount across both venues
Ongoing training and development
Genuine progression opportunities as the business continues to grow
