Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organised Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth daily operations. This role offers an opportunity to work in a professional environment where attention to detail and interpersonal skills are highly valued. Prior office or administrative experience is preferred, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Duties

Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival
Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling as necessary
Answer phone calls, respond to enquiries, and direct calls appropriately
Maintain accurate patient records and update information in the practice management system
Handle administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and processing correspondence
Collect payments and process insurance claims efficiently
Ensure the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and well-stocked with necessary supplies
Support the dental team with various clerical duties to facilitate smooth clinic operations

Skills

Previous office or administrative experience is desirable
Previous experience of Dentally is desirable
Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to remain calm and professional in busy situations
Proficient in using office software such as Microsoft Office or similar programmes
Friendly demeanour with a genuine desire to assist patients and colleagues alike
Ability to multitask effectively whilst maintaining high standards of accuracy

Monday - Friday 8.30am-5.30pm

Occasional Saturdays Required

This role is ideal for individuals who are organised, personable, and eager to contribute positively within a healthcare environment. Previous experience in an administrative capacity will be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided.

Pay: £13.30 per hour

Work Location: In person
