Full job description

Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to lead our culinary team for the reopening of the Fylingdales Inn.

As part of the package accommodation is included plus potential to earn a bonus.

You may currently be a sous chef looking to step up to be a head chef.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, culinary expertise, and a commitment to food safety and hospitality standards. This role offers the opportunity to oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, from menu development to staff management, ensuring the highest quality of food and service.

Duties

Lead and supervise the kitchen team, fostering a positive and productive working environment
Oversee food production, ensuring dishes meet quality standards and presentation expectations
Develop menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients
Manage food preparation processes, ensuring efficiency and consistency across all dishes
Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards
Organise staff schedules, assign duties, and monitor performance to optimise workflow
Train and mentor junior kitchen team, promoting professional development and skill enhancement
Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs effectively
Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained properly and complies with health and safety regulations

Requirements

Proven supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques
Demonstrable team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
Previous experience in restaurant or hospitality settings is essential
Strong leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Good communication skills to effectively liaise with staff and management
Passion for culinary arts with a creative approach to menu development and presentation

Pay: Up to £45,000.00 per year
