Are you looking for a flexible role where you can make a real difference to the lives of young people?

We are looking to replenish our pool of sessional Support Workers to work across our supported accommodation service, Starting Point.

Starting Point currently has 4 supported accommodation houses, trainer flats and an outreach service, all of which strives to give young people the support they need to prepare for and transition into adult life.

Sessional workers are a critical part of our service and cover shifts across our homes, to ensure we always have enough staff to deliver the best support possible. This role offers flexibility around other commitments, covering a variety of shifts such as days, evenings, weekends and sleep-ins, with enhancements paid in recognition of this.

The sucessful candidate

The successful applicant will be kind and compassionate and committed to helping others. You will be good at working as part of a team.

You will have experience of working with children and young people and have an understanding of trauma and how this impacts on young people. You will be energentic and enthusiastic and will have excellent people skills which support you to build positive relationships. You will also have good IT skills and be able to evidence good record keeping.

You will be supporting our most vulnerable young people to develop their life skills, supporting them to engage in education, employment or training and advocating for them to have the opportunities and aspirations for the future.

Safeguarding our young people is a top priority, working within Starting Point you will have a good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and working in collaboration with others to ensure young people's needs are met.
