Company Overview

Volmary Ltd is the UK operation of the European Volmary family of businesses. Our business is 100 years old and in total our group employees total over 1500 people, of which 180 work in our Cambridgeshire nursery.

Our Wisbech St. Mary site has 50 acres of land with 20 acres of efficient glasshouses, Polythene greenhouses, energy centres. We are focused on serving UK based growers and distributors with high quality young plants and providing high quality service levels in a friendly and professional manner.

Summary

We are seeking a Despatch Administrator to join our team in the UK. This vital role involves coordinating logistics and ensuring the smooth dispatch of our products, supporting our mission to deliver excellence in horticulture.

You will help oversee the entire order process—from order receipt to despatch—ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and excellent customer experience. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with plants and people.

This role is mainly office based but may include some nursery work in off peak season. During Peak season weekend work is required.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

Administration of all paperwork relating to the operation of processing and fulfilment of plants in readiness for despatch.
Work alongside stock management function.
Amending orders on PAT computer system
Producing delivery notes for drivers
Update orders – for shortages
Producing weekly pick-lists / orders
Assist customers with delivery updates by phone and tracker
Booking of couriers & pallet deliveries.
Input monthly stock take

Qualifications

Previous Horticultural experience is preferred. Part of this role will include helping to oversee the preparation of young plants for despatch.
Ability to manage shifting priorities
Experience of data input and using PC and web-based IT applications
Ability to respond accurately and efficiently to a wide range of enquiries from a multitude of sources.
Time management is crucial and ability to prioritise workload.
Ability to work unsupervised, to complete department and customer requirements.
Can work under pressure and achieve deadlines and targets at peak times of the year.
Customer orientated individuals with a can do attitude.
