Overview

We are seeking a professional and personable Service Advisor / Admin / Receptionist to join our busy car repair shop / garage. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing appointments, and supporting administrative functions to ensure smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, a friendly demeanour, and a keen eye for detail. Experienced mechanical knowledge helps but can be taught.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly upon arrival and assist them with their enquiries
Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate vehicle drop-offs and collections
Provide accurate information regarding services required. Maintenance or repair options where appropriate
Maintain clear communication with technicians regarding customer needs and vehicle status
Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently
Keep the reception area tidy, organised, and welcoming at all times
Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and updating customer records
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the reception area

Requirements

Proven experience in customer service roles, preferably within the automotive industry or similar environment
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Basic mechanical knowledge or willingness to learn about vehicle services is desirable
Ability to source products / parts related to price quality and time.
Cash handling experience with attention to accuracy and security
Friendly, approachable manner with a focus on delivering outstanding customer experiences
Organised with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
