Due to continued growth and increasing customer demand, North West Seating Limited is looking for an experienced Bus Seat Trimmer / Upholsterer to join our production team in Wigan.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established and respected business supplying high-quality seating solutions to the UK's public transport industry. You'll work on a variety of projects including new production, refurbishment and aftersales, helping to produce seating used by some of the UK's largest bus manufacturers and operators.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Bus Seat Trimmer / Upholsterer, you'll play an important role in producing high-quality seating to the standards our customers expect.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Trimming and upholstering bus seats for new production, refurbishment and aftersales projects.
- Fitting and stretching fabric or vinyl seat covers to finished seat assemblies.
- Using pneumatic (air-powered) staple guns safely and efficiently.
- Preparing seat components including foam, timber, plastics and metal parts prior to trimming.
- Applying spray adhesives and using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Carrying out quality inspections to ensure every seat meets our high standards.
- Supporting production schedules and customer contract orders.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working area.
- Following company quality and health & safety procedures.
Every day brings something different. One day you may be refurbishing seating for a major bus operator, while the next you could be producing brand-new seating for one of the UK's leading vehicle manufacturers.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in their craftsmanship and wants to contribute to a growing business.
Essential
- Previous experience in upholstery, trimming or a similar hands-on manufacturing role.
- Experience using pneumatic staple guns or similar production equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual and self-motivated.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Physically capable of handling products of varying sizes while following safe manual handling practices.
Desirable
Experience within any of the following industries would be advantageous:
- Bus or coach seating
- Automotive trimming
- Commercial vehicle interiors
- Furniture upholstery
- Caravan or motorhome interiors
- Marine upholstery
- Aircraft seating
Don't worry if you haven't worked specifically on bus seating before—full product training will be provided.

Working Hours
Monday – Thursday / 7:30am – 4:15pm
Friday / 7:00am – 1:30pm
Enjoy an early finish every Friday, giving you a longer weekend every week.
