Full job description

GRS Recovery is looking for an organised and reliable Part-Time Accounts Assistant to join our team for three days per week.

This is a varied role supporting the day-to-day financial administration of a busy vehicle recovery business. You will assist with invoicing, purchase ledger, payments, account queries, reconciliation work and general accounts administration, while also providing some wider office administration support where required.

The role would suit someone with previous accounts or bookkeeping experience who is confident working independently, has excellent attention to detail and is comfortable dealing with customers, suppliers and other businesses.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing and processing customer invoices.
Processing supplier invoices and purchase ledger documentation.
Checking invoices and supporting documentation for accuracy.
Allocating and recording customer payments.
Assisting with bank and account reconciliations.
Monitoring outstanding customer accounts and assisting with credit control.
Sending statements and following up overdue invoices.
Dealing with customer and supplier account queries by telephone and email.
Matching invoices, purchase orders, job records and supporting documentation.
Maintaining accurate financial records and filing.
Assisting with supplier payment runs.
Processing expenses and other business expenditure.
Assisting with month-end accounts administration.
Preparing information and reports for management and the company accountant.
Maintaining spreadsheets and internal accounting records.
Ensuring invoices, receipts and other financial documentation are correctly recorded and retained.
Assisting with general office administration where required.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

Experienced in accounts administration, bookkeeping or a similar finance role.
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Comfortable working with figures and financial information.
Confident using accounting software such as Xero/Sage and Microsoft Excel.
Able to manage their own workload and prioritise effectively.
Confident communicating with customers and suppliers.
Professional and discreet when handling confidential financial information.
Reliable, accurate and conscientious.
Comfortable working in a busy operational business.
Able to work independently while also supporting the wider office team.

Experience within vehicle recovery, transport or the automotive industry is not required.

Experience using accounting software would be advantageous.

Working Hours

This is a part-time position working 3 days per week.

Exact working days and hours can be agreed, although we are looking for someone who can provide consistent weekly support.
