As a Digital Solutions Engineer within our Digital Workspace team, you will be responsible for working with our Customers, Sales, Pre-sales and Support teams; to design and deliver high-quality technical installations and provide remote and/or on-site technical break/fix support. As projects require, you may also work within multi-disciplinary teams to scope and deliver specific hardware, software, or services technologies as part of a much larger overall opportunity.
In addition, the role of Digital Solutions Engineer will involve close collaboration with suppliers and contractors, ensuring proposed systems are fit for purpose and can be both implemented and supported.
You will be responsible for reviewing customer requirements, project specifications, and tender documents, then scoping appropriate technology and services deliverables, ensuring all components are accurately defined ahead of deployment.
This position is focused on 3 primary offerings within our Digital Workspace portfolio:

Telecoms and the provision of integrated and unified business telephony systems, including business mobile solutions, plus business broadband and SIP Trunking infrastructure and services.
- Managed Print Services (MPS) and the provision of Office and Print Room devices alongside secure Print Management solutions (Office) and Print Submission / Print Process solutions (Print Room).
- Document Capture and Workflow and the provision of technology (hardware and software) for the digital capture of documents and data, extraction of information, automation of workflow steps, and ultimate distribution and storage of important digital assets.
This is a predominantly field-based, hands-on role combining pre-sales activity (including scoping / specification), installation delivery, system configuration, and customer-facing support.
Your responsibilities as a Digital Solutions Engineer will be:
- Collaborate closely with the Sales team to support pre-sales activities, including validating solutions, and ensuring proposed systems are technically and commercially viable.
- Review customer requirements, technical specifications, schematics, and project documentation to scope hardware, software, and services components and ensure accuracy prior to deployment.
- Complete technical site surveys and produce detailed reports for the relevant Salesperson, customer contact, or supplier / 3rd party, ensuring all requirements are accurately captured.
- Assist the workshop team with pre-staging, setup, and configuration of technology prior to deployment.
- Install and commission, or lead a team that is doing this work, a range of hardware supplied from within the Digital Workspace portfolio, including Telecoms, Managed Print Services, and Document Capture / Workflow.
- Install and commission, or lead a team that is doing this work, a range of software solutions and services supplied from within the Digital Workspace portfolio, including Telecoms, Managed Print Services, and Document Capture / Workflow.
- During installations, take ownership of the technical setup and, working alongside other installation engineers and contractors, ensure projects are delivered to a high standard.
- Complete post-installation reports and technical documentation, ensuring all systems are properly recorded and handed over to the Service team.
- Work with and support the Service team by attending sites to diagnose and resolve technical issues, escalating to suppliers or other 3rd party resources where necessary.
- Support the continued growth of the Digital Workspace group through involvement in potential supplier / product evaluations and technical due diligence tasks.
About you:
- Significant experience of digital telephony systems, including hardware, software, and cloud-based solutions plus core SIP Trunk and Broadband connectivity used to deliver modern, business grade telephony services and functionality.
- Significant experience of mobile telephone technology and services for business use, along with their integration with core business telephony systems.
- Demonstrable experience of working with Managed Print Services technologies, including Printers and Multi-Functional Devices (MFD), along with common secure Print Management solutions like uniFLOW or PaperCut etc.
- Experience of working with scanning technologies (MFD or distinct) and related information extraction and workflow automation applications.
- Proven experience within an IT technology-focused environment, including both server and cloud-based Microsoft applications and infrastructure.
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience of networking technologies, including Routers, Firewalls, Wireless, and Broadband technologies.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, schematics, and project documentation.
- Strong organisational abilities with an excellent eye for detail, ensuring precision in documentation, configuration, and project deliverables.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, reporting, and communication.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective collaboration with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workload, and adapt within a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
- Self-motivated and proactive individual with a ‘Can-Do’ attitude who can work both independently and as part of a wider team.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues both remotely and on-site.
- You will hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
- Ability to travel throughout the United Kingdom, including overnight stays.
