Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm, Monday- Friday, Term Time Only

Salary: Up to £14.50 per hour

About Us

Currents Preschool is a brand-new early years setting opening in West End, built on the belief that every child has their own unique strengths and path. At Currents, we see childhood as a time to explore, discover and shine.

The name Currents reflects our ethos: every child moves at their own pace and in their own direction, just like a fish swimming through water. Our role as educators is not to push children into the same mould, but to notice their strengths, celebrate them and support them in growing confidently along their own current.

Our approach is Reggio-inspired, meaning we see children as capable, curious learners who construct knowledge through exploration, relationships and creativity. We value curiosity, sustained shared thinking, emotional understanding and learning through play.

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reflective Level 3 Early Years Educator to join our founding team.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a new preschool from the beginning. You will play an important role in creating an engaging, child-led environment where children aged 2–5 can explore, investigate and develop confidence in their abilities.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high quality care and education for children aged 2–5.
Support a play-based and child-led curriculum in line with the EYFS.
Act as a key person for a group of children, building strong relationships with them and their families.
Observe children’s development and support planning for their next steps.
Engage children in sustained shared thinking to extend learning.
Support children’s independence, communication and emotional wellbeing.
Help create stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and support less experienced staff where appropriate.

What We’re Looking For

Level 3 Early Years qualification (full and relevant)
Good knowledge of the EYFS framework
Experience working in an early years setting
A warm, reflective and child-centred approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
An interest in or understanding of the Reggio Emilia approach is desirable, though training and support will be provided
