About the Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Manager to join a prestigious private estate in Windsor, overseeing health, safety, compliance and operational best practice across extensive grounds, luxury accommodations, hospitality facilities and staff environments.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to an individual with a strong background in luxury hospitality, private estates, hotels, resorts or high-end residential environments. The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering a culture of safety, compliance and operational excellence across a diverse and dynamic estate setting.
As part of an exciting new phase of development, the successful candidate will also play a key role in supporting the opening and operational launch of a luxury hotel and restaurant operation on the estate.
Working closely with senior leadership, contractors and operational teams, the Health & Safety Manager will help establish health and safety frameworks, compliance procedures and operational standards across all hospitality areas prior to opening.
This will include supporting risk assessments, fire safety procedures, staff training, contractor compliance, kitchen and food service safety, emergency protocols and the implementation of best-in-class health and safety practices aligned with luxury hospitality standards.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organisational and communication skills, meticulous attention to detail and the confidence to work collaboratively with senior leadership, operational teams, contractors and external regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and continuously review health and safety policies, procedures and operational standards in accordance with UK legislation and industry best practice.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections across all estate operations, including accommodations, hospitality venues, kitchens, plant areas, back-of-house facilities, grounds and contractor activities.
- Identify hazards and implement effective corrective and preventative actions to minimise operational risk.
- Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, near misses and workplace concerns, conducting thorough root cause analysis and ensuring appropriate follow-up actions are implemented.
- Maintain accurate health and safety records, reports, audits and compliance documentation across the estate.
- Deliver engaging health and safety training, inductions, toolbox talks and awareness initiatives to promote a strong safety culture throughout the workforce.
- Partner closely with estate leadership and department heads to ensure health and safety standards are consistently upheld across all departments.
- Support the pre-opening hotel and restaurant project by ensuring all operational areas, systems and procedures meet required health and safety standards prior to launch.
- Manage contractor compliance processes, ensuring external suppliers and contractors operate in line with estate policies and statutory requirements.
- Monitor compliance with all relevant UK health and safety legislation, including fire safety, COSHH, manual handling, workplace regulations and risk management protocols.
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory inspections, audits and external health and safety agencies.
- Provide regular reporting and strategic guidance to senior management regarding compliance performance, risk exposure and continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Health & Safety leadership role within luxury hospitality, private estates, hotels, resorts or similar high-end operational environments.
- Previous experience supporting hotel or hospitality openings highly desirable.
- Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, compliance frameworks and industry best practice.
- NEBOSH qualification essential; IOSH membership or additional professional certifications highly desirable.
- Experience conducting investigations, audits, risk assessments and incident management processes.
- Excellent report writing, organisational and communication skills.
- Confident influencing teams and promoting a positive health and safety culture across diverse departments.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Professional, approachable and capable of building effective working relationships across all levels of the business.
- Experience working within luxury service environments and understanding the balance between operational safety and exceptional guest experience preferred.

General Responsibilities:
· All employees are expected to be fully familiar with and adhere to, the hotel’s policies and procedures relating to fire safety, emergency evacuation, first aid, health and safety and security.
· Staff must also ensure they understand and follow the guidance outlined in the Employee Handbook, as well as any relevant notices displayed in key operational areas throughout the estate.
