Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Fabricator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in various welding techniques, particularly MIG and TIG welding. This role involves fabricating and assembling metal components, ensuring high-quality standards are met throughout the production process. The successful applicant will work with hand tools and power tools to create precise and quality products. The majority of our works are conducted with Blue Chip clients
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble metal structures and components according to specifications. This will be using carbon steel, aluminium, stainless steel and brass.
- Perform welding tasks using MIG and TIG welding techniques on sheet metal and other materials.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to complete fabrication tasks.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
- Interpret 2D and 3D technical drawings to accurately assemble components.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance productivity.
- Liaise regularly with line managers in relation to labour resources, training, machinery and any non-conformances.
- Supporting junior colleague apprentices and assisting them where required
Experience
- Proven experience in welding and fabrication, particularly with MIG and TIG welding (5 years minimum)
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various hand tools and power tools.
- Basic maths skills for measuring and calculating dimensions accurately.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings is preferred.
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and continuous improvement in fabrication processes.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage workload.
- Good attendance and timekeeping record.
